November 15, 2017 – “Whirlpool Corporation Announces plans for Wind Turbines at Greenville Manufacturing Facility,” Whirlpool Corporation

To continue the successful partnership, Whirlpool announced it’s next Wind for Industry project in 2017. The turbines would be installed at Whirlpool’s Greenville facility, which manufactures KitchenAid appliances.

Kevin Randolph mentioned One Energy in his article about the DOE’s Distributed Wind Market Report, informing readers of the increased accessibility of distributed wind due to PPAs like the kind One Energy offers.

August 10, 2017 – “Ohio Now a Leader in Small Wind-Power Projects, Federal Report Says,” Columbus Dispatch
In this article about the increase in small wind in Ohio, Dan Gearino quoted One Energy CEO Jereme Kent in explaining the timing of megawatt installation. Gearino also referenced Kent’s analogy that “a 1.5 megawatt turbine in a windy region such as northwestern Ohio will generate enough electricity in a year to offset the needs of 300 to 500 houses.”
August 09, 2017 – “Goldwind Provides 60 MW to One Energy for Distributed Generation,” Power Engineering

To keep up with the demand for Wind for Industry projects, One Energy refused to let delivery delays tarnish our promises to customers for a timely project installation. In 2017, we completed a deal with our turbine manufacturers, Goldwind, to secure 60 MW worth of turbine parts to be stored at our North Findlay Wind Campus, ready to be deployed as soon as a project was signed.

August 01, 2017 – “Valfilm Investing $6.9M in Findlay Facility,” Toledo Business Journal

Valfilm, a plastics manufacturing company in Findlay, OH, announced their decision for two One Energy wind turbines to supply more than 75% of the facility’s electricity needs. Just down the street from One Energy’s headquarters, Valfilm’s turbines added to the growing “wind farm” at the North Findlay Wind Campus.

March 23, 2017 – “Blueprint – Whirlpool Creates Jobs, Wind Energy, Scholarships,” Marion Star

When companies agree to Wind for Industry, they’re receiving more than just wind turbines. In this article, Marion Star highlighted the additional benefits of energy cost savings, scholarships, and the facility’s stability in the community for the coming 20 years.

January 01, 2017 – “2016 Sustainability Report,” Whirlpool Corporation

The beginning of 2016 signified the start of an ongoing partnership between One Energy and Whirlpool Corporation in increasing the sustainability of Whirlpool’s manufacturing. 

In their annual sustainability report, Whirlpool highlighted the benefits they had already seen from their first Wind for Industry project at their Findlay, OH plant – and introduced plans for wind energy at two more Ohio facilities.

May 26, 2016 – “Whirlpool Announces Wind Turbines to Power Marion County Plant,” 10TV

The residents of Marion, OH enthusiastically welcomed the wind turbines One Energy installed at their Whirlpool facility. To those interviewed for this article, Wind for Industry was a sign that the jobs created by Whirlpool in their area weren’t going anywhere for a long time. To us, that’s true sustainability.

Today, Whirlpool Corporation announced plans to build wind turbines to help power its Marion and Ottawa plants in Ohio, a $13.5 million total investment that will build upon the company’s 46-year commitment to advances in sustainable manufacturing.

The completion of these projects has the potential to make Whirlpool Corporation one of the largest Fortune 500 consumers of on-site wind energy in the United States. Collectively, the company will be generating enough clean energy to power more than 2,400 average American homes.
