Analyst Internship – Spring and Summer 2020

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The Analyst Intern will support technical matters related to the development of Wind for Industry® projects. This position will be within the Project Planning and Technology department and will also have the opportunity to work with the Research and Development (R&D), Finance, and Regulatory departments.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and assess the viability of potential new Wind for Industry® customers
  • Help perform due diligence and create technical reports to support project development
  • Use established financial models for projects ranging in size from $3 million to $30 million
  • Analyze wind resource data and aid in energy production estimates
  • Create 3D models of Wind for Industry® projects
  • Interpret and communicate technical information within the company

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: 
Reports to the Head of Project Planning and Technology; no supervisory responsibilities

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • In progress of obtaining a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, meteorology, computer science, mathematics, economics, finance, or other relevant field
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, work ethic, and ability to work in an entrepreneurial, unstructured environment
  • Patience, persistence, and creative problem-solving abilities in groups as well as independently
  • Willing to explore concepts outside of their chosen field
  • Significant experience in data analysis using Microsoft Excel; other analysis software experience a plus, such as ArcGIS
  • Experience with 3D Drawing software, financial modeling, instrumentation, or computer programming a plus
